Erasmus+ 2016 Call Announced: education, training, youth and sport

The European Commission has now published the 2016 call for the Erasmus+ programme for education, training, youth and sport. Application deadlines, as well as further information on eligible activities, can be found in the 2016 Call for Proposals document and the 2016 Programme Guide (both of which are available from the below links, as well as from the websites of the European Commission of the UK National Agency for Erasmus+).

This year’s call has seen some minor changes to the Erasmus+ programme, including:

  • New opportunities in Vocational Education and Training Mobility (including the possibility for organisations to apply for mobility projects with and without a VET Charter)
  • More targeted Strategic Partnerships, and a clearer distinction between projects supporting innovation and supporting exchange of best practices
  • A revised format of Sector Skills Alliances: two strands supporting needs identification and design and delivery of VET
  • New opportunities in sport in the form of Small Collaborative Partnerships

Some notable deadlines include:

  • Mobility of individuals in the field of education and training: 2 February 2016
  • Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters Degrees:18 February 2016
  • Knowledge Alliances and Sector Skills Alliances: 26 February 2016
  • Jean Monnet actions: 25 February 2016

Please note that the Commission has also issued a corrigendum correcting an initial discrepancy between the 2016 Call and the Programme Guide concerning the originally-published deadlines for Strategic Partnerships in the fields of education, training and youth (Key Action 2). The amended deadlines are:

  • Strategic partnerships in the field of youth: 2 February 2016, 26 April 2016 and 4 October 2016
  • Strategic partnerships in the field of education and training: 31 March 2016
